Course 'Implementing risk-based auditing in financial institutions: sound practices and tools'



The course was directed by Fit & Proper and coordinated with the Chamber of Banks and Financial Institutions (CBF) of Costa Rica, and was based on the development of the contents for the implementation of Risk Based Auditing (RBA). In addition, theoretical and practical knowledge was provided on conceptual aspects, international standards, tools and best practices in RBA.

The course was attended by managers and senior executives responsible for the areas relevant to the subject matter covered in the course, who were able to analyze/interpret/review what the risk-focused audit management framework consists of, and what the roles are in the risk management model through the analysis of specific topics, examples and case studies. The course focused on the general process of identifying the auditable universe and the development of the audit plan based on risk priorities. Understanding the supervisor's approach to evaluating the results of the RBA.
